weddings of 2012

I wanted to do a few recap post on the year 2012
starting with one of my favorites
 WEDDINGS!
this year was huge for me and my photography journey.
I had the privilege of being able to capture some amazing memories with my camera.
Here are some of my favorites
(if you click on their names it will take you to the original post with extra pictures)

I am so excited for each and every one of these couples.
They are all so in love and you already know
I just LOVE love.

ugly christmas sweater

I had to share one last Christmas picture
the girls and I made daddy a hand print Christmas tree sweater to wear at his ugly sweater party at work.
now if you know my husband at all you would know he is extremely picky about his clothes. so much so that i really didn't t think he was going to even try this sweater on let alone leave the house in it. but he did and in doing so made all his little ladies super proud!

my daddy

Before I can even remember my daddy has always in a band.
music was passed down to him from my Grandpa and onto  my uncles.
I remember band practice in our basement and spending time at a recording studio and helping with packing away instruments and other equipment at festivals.
unfortunately I did not get the gift of music
don't get me wrong I sure did try:
to this day my dad plays music every chance he gets. and he's really good at it! maybe I am bias but seriously you should listen here. he's the one with the bandanna on :)

for Christmas I wanted to get a picture of my daddy with my girl and his guitar.

a christmas surprise

Sometimes I have photo sessions that are to remain a big secret. especially around the holiday season. I mean what better present than a picture of your loved ones for Christmas?
one of my favorite families I get to photograph wanted to do something special for their parents. This was way harder than we thought it would be. originally we were going to head to a park and take pictures but who knew a mother of 10 would rather NOT leave her children for a little time alone!!! finally the kids talked her into getting a quick dinner with dad.
I drove up to their house seeing that the parents had not left yet so I parked down the street and waited until they pulled out and were long gone. Then I made my move!
We all took off out side lined up and each one took turns writing their thank you message and posing for their close up.
we were racing with the sun and the fear that maybe the parents would come home early.
once everyone was done I took off!
about half way home I was rethinking what was actually written on each chalk board and I seriously had to pull over and find a tissue. I just LOVE this group!!!!
from top left to right
1 thank you for using all your muscles
2. thank you mom and dad for helping me with my leg
3. Thank you for putting up with me
4 thank you for always being encouraging and supportive
5 thank you for caring for me
6 thank you for loving me mom and dad
7. thanks for starting again
8 thank you for everything you do for me
9. thank you for working hard so I can play sports
10. Thank you for teaching and mentoring us we love you!

I hope your Christmas was perfect and filled with so much love and happiness.
Mine sure was :)

Lump of coal

I had a big challenge to coming up with 2 desserts for Julia's last day of school for christmas break.
I made a pumpkin cheese cake for the teacher luncheon.
Miss Belle helped ALOT with that
she really enjoys cooking with me
my hope is that she will just continue to love it and become our family cook by her 3rd birthday :P

anyway
for Julia's class party we made lumps of coal

I thought they were pretty cute
